Yesterday, Sunday June 22, I took O'malley and Shorty to a combined test in Collinsville, a town about 45 mintues north of the farm. Both boys were amazing, O'malley competed in the Prelim and Shorty in the Training.
O'malley was amazing on the flat posting his best dressage test score to date, scoring a 37.5!!!! He finally broke 40!!! Show Jumping when very well, O'malley was jumping great in the warm up and he went in and showed everyone just how amazing he really is, jumping a foot perfect round. O'malley won he class with a 5o.5, accumulating time faults in show jumping due to a error in the way the course was wheeled.... He is really for Maui Jim, maybe we can break a 35!!!
Shorty was great, showing everyone that the old man still has it! He walked into the areana looked around and said "Yes Ma'am I am here to play the game." He scored a great score of a 34.7, it would have been lower but he got a little jiggy in his free walk and didn't strech well at the trot, oh well!!! And with that score he went into the lead. Show Jumping went well for Shorty, my goal was to just go in and keep him soft over his top and forward... and we did just that posting another clean round and just adding time faults, which everyone had! He would end up finishing 2nd having one too many time faults. But he was great! And we will only improve on it before Maui.
